Apple iPhone 15 Ultra May Have 10x Periscope Telephoto Lens: Report
With less than a month until the launch of the iPhone 15 series reportedly on September 12 or 13, the iPhone 15 Ultra is back in the rumor mill. According to media reports, Apple may indeed drop the "iPhone 15 Pro Max" name in favor of "Ultra" for the top-tier model this year. The insider also reveals the differences between the iPhone 15 Ultra and iPhone 15 Pro models.
The report claims that the so-called iPhone 15 Ultra will be capable of zooming up to 10x due to the periscope telephoto lens, although it was previously reported that it could have 5x or 6x zoom capabilities. Given that the Galaxy S23 Ultra has a 10x optical zoom lens, it seems straight out of Samsung's playbook.
Samsung uses a 10MP sensor for this telephoto lens, but Apple could also use a sensor with a similar resolution. Another rumor indicates that the main sensor could also be the around 1-inch Sony IMX903.
The iPhone 15 Ultra may include a larger display in addition to greater zooming capabilities. It is likely to be 6.7 inches, similar to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. People are already used to anything this size and very spacious. The corporation may also continue with this screen size for financial reasons.
Instead of the iconic Ring/Silent switch seen on previous models, the next iPhone may include an action button. This is a rumor that we have heard before as well. The action button can serve as a multipurpose toggle for various features, such as the mute option. The chassis of this mute button can be made from titanium. This more robust build could also house a powerful 3nm Apple A17 Bionic CPU.
