Beforehand of iPhone 15 launch, Google Pixel 8 specifications leak: Everything we know about the next Google phone
Two major tech events are yet to happen - the iPhone 15 and Pixel 8 series. Apple usually holds its event in September, while introducing its new set of flagship phones in October. While there is still a long way to go for the Pixel 8 series, leaks have revealed possible features of the next-gen Google phone. Tipster Yogesh Brar claims that the Pixel 8 could be $50 to $100 more expensive than the previous model, suggesting that the price could be either $649 (roughly Rs. 53,650) or $699 (roughly Rs. 57,780). While we are yet to get official confirmation on the same, let's take a look at the leaked specifications.
Pixel 8: Expected Specifications, Features
The Google Pixel 8 is said to come with a smaller 6.17-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with 1,400nits of peak brightness and 427 ppi. If this is true, then it will be a relief for those who like compact phones. You can expect the Pixel 8 to be powered by Google's next-generation flagship Tensor G3 chipset. It is expected to come with the latest UFS 4.0 storage version for quick access to files.
Talking about the rear cameras, the Google Pixel 8 could feature a 50-megapixel GN2 main sensor, a 12-megapixel IMX386 ultra-wide sensor, and a Time-of-Flight (ToF) sensor. The new setup is said to improve lighting processing by 35 per cent and better HDR. People can also get support for 8K / 30fps video recording. On the front, the leak suggests that we can see an 11-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.
Under the hood, the upcoming Pixel 8 is rumoured to feature a 4,485mAh battery with support for 24W fast wired charging technology. Google is expected to provide support for 20W wireless charging technology as well. Of course, there will be no charger in the retail box considering that the company does not ship chargers with its phones.
It's no secret that the Pixel 8 will be the first phone to officially come with the latest Android 14 OS. This operating system is currently available in beta version. It is said that this time around, Google will enhance the software support for its phones. If leaks are to be believed, we could be getting five years of major Android OS upgrades.
