Apple has announced iOS 16, the latest version of its software that powers the company's iPhones, at the ongoing Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
The iOS 16 update brings several improvements and new features such as an improved lock screen, Focus Mode, Apple Pay Later, parental controls, health features, and more.

iOS 16 features
Lock screen
iOS 16 brings several updates to the lock screen. It also comes with access to wallpapers along with customization like widgets. Users will be able to choose from various typefaces and colour filters when selecting the lock screen widget. Users will also be able to set a photo shuffle that automatically changes the lock screen photo throughout the day.iOS 16 achieves custom compatibility, and select face when the lock screen selects dial and changes the selector.
Whatever you can do a photo shuffle, such screen you execute automatically.
Focus
With the new update, Apple's focus feature has also received an update. It's made easy to set up and integrated into the lock screen. Users can activate the focus by swiping up on the respective lock screen.
iCloud Shared Photo Library
Apple has announced iCloud Shared Photo Library which allows families to easily share photos in a separate iCloud library. It allows up to six users to contribute to the library.
Apple has said that users will receive suggestions for sharing photos that include participants in a shared photo library.
Messages
Messages have also received a major update and users will now be able to edit and recall recently sent messages. To edit or recall a message, all you have to do is tap and hold the message and select the appropriate option.
Apple has added the ability to schedule emails and cancel the delivery of emails before they reach the recipient. Apple has also added a new feature that will notify users if they forgot to include an attachment or any other part of the mail.
Apple Pay Later
Apple has also introduced the Apple Pay Later feature which will be available in select markets. This will allow users to divide the cost of purchases on Apple Pay into four equal instalments over six weeks without any interest or fees.
Parental controls
The iOS 16 update also brings improvements to parental controls. Parents will now be able to manage their kids' accounts as soon as they set them up, and they'll receive suggestions based on age-appropriate restrictions for movies, apps, music, and more.
Health
Apple has said that it will use the motion sensor on the device to estimate calories burned. Users will be able to set "move goals" and track their active calories using the fitness app. The update also brings a new feature for medicines, allowing you to add and manage their ongoing medicines.
